Feeling like your early 30's in your late 40's

I figured I would share my mediterranean diet success story. My name is Robin Baker, I’m 47 years old from The United States.


I’ve battled with my weight all my life. I remember crying in dressing rooms as a teen because I could never find jeans that fit, was never able to fit in the “cool” clothes and faced ridicule at school. I tried Weight Watchers, Atkins, following a low-fat diet and more. The weight might come off for a while but would always come back.


I recently visited my doctor and weighed in at 220 pounds  – the most I had ever weighed. At 4’9 (145 cm), that was a lot of extra weight to be carrying around. I was having trouble climbing stairs, wheezing at night and my doctor was wanting to put me on cholesterol medication. I remember telling him to give me time. That day I went home and started following a mediterranean diet plan.


The first week, I lost five pounds, my energy level was through the roof and I felt great. 11 months in, I’m happy to report that I’ve lost a total of 40 pounds since starting the Mediterranean lifestyle. When visiting my doctor there aren’t any conversations about cholesterol medication and I feel better than I have in a very, very long time – I feel like I’m in my early 30s as opposed to 47.
